Book 3 is basically out of my hands. I have time now to look at and get a

feel for book 4 in the series, once again.  

Book 4 is a 30,000 word very rough draft, right now.  All my stories start out like this. When I'm waiting for input from my publisher for the previous book I start by outlining the next story with a list of possible chapter titles and what I want each chapter to contain. Then I start to write whatever comes to my mind for the story. For the most part it is just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. Ideas are always popping into my head, so these thought are sporadic, random and in no consistent order.  I can move these thoughts around easily because of the writing software I use.  I always wonder how those authors did it before the computer and even before the basic instrument of a typewriter.  What a process it must've been. Writing on paper using only candle light to see with, with a quill tip pen. I've heard that some authors, of that time period, even needed to make their own paper. Wow!

I just got off the phone with my publisher.   After reading all weekend, I sent him the changes I want to see in book 3 "Mother Earth and the Wicked Weed. 

His team is going to look them over and make all necessary corrections. Once that is done I will get a digital copy and be able to look over the corrections. when I ok that, release date will follow shortly.  Each step that is made is getting us closer to the end goal. A finished book, in print, that I can share with you all.

I received the proof today for book 3 in the "Shiny Little Things Series"  titled "Mother Earth and the Wicked Weed. I need to check it out for errors and once that is done it will be ready for release.  That process will take a week or two.

I'm so excited for everyone to read this story.

Book 3 is not available yet to be read, but, don't worry, I will be sure to send out a few posts via social media once it is. 

It's really weird to see any of my books in print.  I have had the ideas in my head for such a long time, and then they become just clicks on a computer screen. I have also seen them printed on copier paper as a manuscript, but when I see my ideas between the covers of a book.  It becomes real. What a feeling. I wish everyone could experience that.

I have so much I want to tell here, but I never want to say to much, I don't want to spoil the story for anyone that has not read it yet. 

Each book has its own beginning, middle and end.  I never liked cliffhangers. Each book can be a stand alone story. For those that have read them there is a central theme that pulls all the stories together.  I have 10 stories already outlined in this series, and I know how it is going to end.  I have sad feeling about the day that a write the ending for real. Not because of how it ends, but because it does end.  It had been a part of me for so long now that I really don't want to end the sage with Alexandria, Skeeter, and Rusty, but I know it must one day.  These kids have been playing in my head for decades. I kinda feel as if they are extensions of my own childhood. 

I have been toying with a few different ideas. Should I ad a couple extra books into this series, or just save those thoughts for something totally different. 

I guess time will tell.

Gonna switch gears  for this post. I have been working on a special project because book 3 is in Stillwater publishing's hands and I can't do anything with it. Book 4 is almost done as well. I just need to clean it up a bit, for the next step.   Book 5 has a very advanced outline and  I can't wait to start writing that one.   

The special project is for the younger readers. I don't want to get to much into it just yet,  but I let my 8 yr old granddaughter Alexandria read it and she had the biggest smile on her face. That only confirms to my that I am moving in the right direction. can't wait to let the cat out of the bag. Come back for more details

Alexandria, Rusty, and Skeeter get themselves into a lot of trouble, but for the most part they didn't ask for it. it just happened to them.  They always try to do the next right thing, but sometimes they stray a little off course, especial Rusty. If they had the chance to do it all over again, I don't think they would change a thing. Well maybe they would change a few things, but wouldn't we all if we could get a do-over once in a while? I know I sure would.

I have wanted to write a book since I was in my late teens. Since that time I have started and stopped numerous manuscripts. I still have most of those hand written notes and outlines filed away in an old desk.  Some of those stories are making their way into this series in one form or  another. I decided to make these stories into a  series as a way to get them out into the world without needing to create new characters for each new book. I do need to change the content so that it is able to be enjoyed by everyone. I do want  this series to be kid and family friendly.

Most people don't realize that book 1 and 2 both take place during one weekend. Sometimes they miss that fact. Book 1 starts on a Friday night, but the fun doesn't begin until Saturday.    Book 2 continues the drama and finishes the weekend off with an epic battle and a brilliant light show that the people of Roaring Springs and Maiden Creek will never forget.  

Book 3 is a whole new adventure for the kids. It starts just in time for summer vacation the following year, and I bet the kids wish that they never would've left class.

What a lot of people don't know is that the first book "Shiny Little Things" was not my first idea on how to start the series.  Actually  the book that will be titled "Origins"  or something in that manner was the first idea. It will be book 7 or 8 in the series and it will explain, how the Snow Globe came to be, along with the other characters mentioned in  previous books.   I will try not to give away any spoilers.  Just interesting facts.   If you have any questions i would be happy to answer them and I do give some  spoilers in private chats. so feel feel free to contact me.
